Artist Statement

 

This painting is a 24 x 30 portrait of my daughter Hannah. As she plays a little Mozart piece, she sees herself playing as an accomplished concerto. The painting seems unfinished. However, musicians, poets and artists are always growing so there is always so much more to learn. At the same time, music art, and poetry fill our lives with color and meaning.

Hannah's Music is a response to the poem "Piano Lesson" by Gala Malherbe.
