Musician and poet Claudia Drosen is a native of Brooklyn, New York, who left behind city life and resides with her family in Marquette, Michigan, on the Upper Peninsula’s South shore of Lake Superior. Claudia is principal flutist in the Marquette Symphony Orchestra, and an Adjunct faculty member in the Music Department of Northern Michigan University. She has an M.A. in Creative Writing from Northern Michigan University, where she was a preliminary poetry reader for Passages North and a B.F.A. in Flute Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her poetry has appeared in The Poetry Society of Michigan’s Peninsula Poets, Lit UP, The Driftwood Review, Lips, Water Music: The Great Lakes State Poetry Anthology, Jewish Currents, Maiden Voyage. She is also a member of the band Radio On, a group comprised of both classical and rock musicians and singers, who, by way of original musical compositions and poetry, experiments with sound through imaginary landscapes. Claudia is also a serious proponent of frequent and unbridled laughter.
