Beverly Matherne

BEVERLY MATHERNE

Beverly Matherne, author of six poetry books and winner of seven first-place poetry prizes, is Professor Emerita of English at Northern Michigan University, where she directed the Master of Fine Arts program in English and the Visiting Writers Series and served as poetry editor of Passages North literary magazine.

She has published widely in The Great River Review, The Kansas Quarterly, Metamorphoses, Plat Valley Review, Spillway, Western Humanities Review, Runes, Verbal Art, Verse, and elsewhere and has done over 350 readings across the U.P., The United States, Canada, and France, and in Belgium, Germany, Spain, and Wales, including prestigious venues such as Shakespeare and Company in Paris.
