The Marquette Poets Circle is a group of local poets. They meet once a month  to plan events, workshop poems, borrow books and literary journals and share submitting tips for publications and contests. An Open Mic follows the monthly meeting. It is open to the public and free. The Marquette Poets Circle is a member of the Poetry Society of Michigan.

The Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate Foundation promotes poetry in the U.P. and the projects of the U.P. Poet Laureate through public events and through online and print publication.
